Homework Insect Research

The children in Room 7 have found out lots of interesting facts about insects.

Caterpillars live in deserts, rain forests and mountains. JM
Ladybirds are omnivores. This means they eat meat and plants. OE
Very young grasshoppers dont have wings. CB
Dragonflies only live up to 30 days. LG
Cochroaches eat food scraps. MCl
Trap Door Spiders belong to the arachnid family. MR
Caterpillars have 13 body segments. NH
Stick insects change their colours to match their habitat. RP
Stick insects look like a stick. CHW
Mosquitos are the deadliest animals in the world. MCo
The female ladybird lays 2000 eggs in one year. JL
The lady bug belongs to coccinellidae family. EW
Butterflies live in grasslands, forests and gardens. AC
Ladybugs are also called Lady Beetles. JB
Butterflies eat leaves. CJ
Honey bees eat nectar and pollen. CS
Lady bugs have a thorax, head, wings and legs too. RG
Caterpillars live on swan plants. KH
A caterpillar will turn into a crysalis and then into a butterfly. SKB
Bumble bees don't store food for winter. OW
Monarch butterflies live in New Zealand, America and Indonesia. LB
