Awesome Insects

Thank you to everyone who created an awesome insect from recycled materials. Your creativity has been amazing. It was lovely to get so much positive feedback from parents about how much you all enjoyed creating your insects with your children. The insects are now proudly on display in the library.

Percy's Queens Birthday Adventure

On Saturday Percy came to watch my soccer game and Percy got player of the day. Me and Percy shared a cup cake. It had sprinkles on it. For dinner we made sausages and it's our favourite dinner. We went to the skate park to meet some friends. Percy had a ride on my scooter. Percy played baseball with me. It is the Queen's birthday so I got to have Percy for three days. Lucky me.  MCL

Percy Possum Adventures Week 5 Term 2

Percy went home with me. I had to go to swimming class and Percy wanted to come with me. The next day we went to my cousin's house. We got lunch with her. Percy wanted to eat my lunch so I just gave him one piece. Percy met my cousin. KH

Insects on the loose

There is a bug explosion happening in Room 7. Look out because Percy Possum might eat them for his dinner!!

Last day for Mrs Pearce :-(

Congratulations to Mrs Pearce on a very sucessful practicum. Thank you for all the valuable contributions that you have made to the children's learning. We have loved having you in Room 7...

...but luckily for us, it is not goodbye. Mrs Pearce is coming back in Term 3 to work with us on an inquiry unit.

Homework Insect Research

The children in Room 7 have found out lots of interesting facts about insects.

Caterpillars live in deserts, rain forests and mountains. JM
Ladybirds are omnivores. This means they eat meat and plants. OE
Very young grasshoppers dont have wings. CB
Dragonflies only live up to 30 days. LG
Cochroaches eat food scraps. MCl
Trap Door Spiders belong to the arachnid family. MR
Caterpillars have 13 body segments. NH
Stick insects change their colours to match their habitat. RP
Stick insects look like a stick. CHW
Mosquitos are the deadliest animals in the world. MCo
The female ladybird lays 2000 eggs in one year. JL
The lady bug belongs to coccinellidae family. EW
Butterflies live in grasslands, forests and gardens. AC
Ladybugs are also called Lady Beetles. JB
Butterflies eat leaves. CJ
Honey bees eat nectar and pollen. CS
Lady bugs have a thorax, head, wings and legs too. RG
Caterpillars live on swan plants. KH
A caterpillar will turn into a crysalis and then into a butterfly. SKB

Percy Possum's Adventures Week 4

Percy came to my house. Me and Percy played on the computer. We played Toxic 1 and 2. We went on the computer again. Percy played a game and he completed it. ZZZZZZZZ it's bedtime. Percy made clay items. Then we played popping games. After popping games we made an angry bird game called Angry birds Clay. Percy made Violet Bird. On Sunday Percy went to golf with me. We downloaded Angry birds Seasons. We completed electric man 2. Zzzzzzzzzzz it's bed time. Thank you Mrs Macro for letting me have Percy!
