Well done to JB for using independent decoding strategies when reading independently and KH who has been showing the value of cooperation. Two more fantastic kids in Room 7.

Week 6 Star Students

Well done to LG for an awesome effort with writing...he is beginning to add adjectives to make his writing more interesting. I think he could become an author when he grows up! Also to VO for always being a considerate class member and thinking about others.

Artists at Work

We have been busy creating a special piece of art for our calendars this year. Art is a favourite time in Room 7 where we listen to music and let the creative juices flow. A great deal of concentration was needed today and you could have heard a pin drop! We hope you love the finished product...watch this space :-)

Week 5 Super Stars

Well done to JM for making a big improvement in Number Knowledge and to HS who is always extremely considerate to others in the classroom. Yay!

AUTHOR VISIT

 
The children were captivated by the visit from a real, live author, John Parker. John captived the children by reading stories and enthused them  to continue to record life events in a little journal. He encouraged them to reread and edit their stories until they are happy with their work...even if this takes a while to complete. The children were able to make connections with their own writing and that of a published author.

We are going to be having a visit from author John Parker in the library this Wednesday. You can read all about him and see some of the books he has written on display in the library. Maybe you can even have a question ready for him!

VO's Weekend with Percy

On Saturday I went to Ricki's house for dinner and I took Percy Possum. Percy sat by me while we watched the rugby game. We had lots of fun. When we got home I was really tired. I went to bed and took Percy with me. We cuddled up and fell asleep and on Sunday I went to the movies with Percy and Ricki.
